The preexisting stressful situations of the school children take up a higher altitude while they face the competitive public exams of the Indian system of education. This critical situation gets worsened with the high and unrealistic expectations of the society in general and parents in particular, and the failure of coping mechanisms among teachers dealing with these children. So the proposed study doles out with the rationale of employing School Stress Inoculation Training Programme on a preventative basts to inoculate school children, their parents and teachers to current/future stressors and investigate its effect on stress coping repertoires and the well being of the school children. The Stress Inoculation Training (SIT) approach is designed to impart skills to enhance their resistance to stress and practice a repertoire of coping skills augmenting the capability to respond effectively in the present and future stressful situations. The key objective of the study is to prepare students, teachers and parents to respond more favorably to negative stress events by training them on effective coping skills even before stress exposure and assess its efficacy over the wellbeing and performance of school children. Keywords
